Me and Sandy on Easter Sunday! We had a very nice lunch at her house in the afternoon!

Blake wanted to play in my aunt's room, so we obliged....he thought the treadmill was a slide, so he kept climbing up it and scooting himself down like a slide!

Yay!

I had a paper due today that I had to get up and present to the class....I waited until the last minute to do it, of course. I think I did pretty well...I actually wasn't nervous, which is weird for me. I think I was just confident that I would do a good job....I mean, everyone who had presented in days before me pretty much got up and freaking read their paper aloud to the class! Talk about boring! I made some note cards with cues, but pretty much just talked about my topic, which was The Effects of Television on Children. I made a poster so everyone would have something to look at, which I think makes things a little more interesting....I also got my test grade back...not too impressive, but a 92%....I guess I'll take it! I'm doing pretty well in my class....it's almost over, though! I am going to sign up for an anatomy class this summer, so Im pretty scared of that! This psych class takes only little work, I'm sure anatomy will be a different story!!!!

In other news, it's dang scorching hot here!!!! Yesterday we hit 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Uuummmm...it's only April, didn't the weather get the memo!?! We've been having blackouts and such already....it's not really all that fantastic. Our lakes are super low due to lack of rain this year, which sucks!

Nothing much else is really going on these days.....I wil lhave Easter pics to post soon, so look for those in the next few days! Hope everyone's doing well!!!

We still have Blake's infant swing set up in our guestroom/computer room. When we're in the room, Blake always tries to get in the swing or ride it or play with the toys...he just can't seem to leave it alone! Look at his skinny little leggies!!!!!! I swear, I can't fatten that boy up! He can still wear 9 mo clothes from last summer!!!!

Blake is on an endless search to find the lizard that lives on our hose....Bryce has pointed it out to him several times as well as picked it up for Blake to look at and now he is obsessed! Everytime we go outside, he has to see if he can find it! He grabs at the grass and looks into his hands to see if he found the lizard, whether he saw it in the grass or not! He says lizard perfectly, it's so cute! Crazy monkey!!!

It's a Boy!!!!

Colin James Werth was born this morning at 6am!!!! He's very healthy and doing well, which is good for being a month premature! He weighed 5lbs 5ozs and was 17 inches long, so he's a tiny little guy! He has dark, curly hair and dimples, just like Jamie, which is a good thing!!! Both mom and baby are doing really well! I wish I could rush there and see her now, but my school schedule is very busy this week and next! I'll make it there soon, though! I'm so excited for Jamie and can't wait to meet little Colin! I'll update with pictures when I can!

Exciting News!

I just got a call from my cousin Jamie's mom saying she's in the hospital having some serious contractions!!!!! Baby Colin just may be making an appearance sometime tomorrow!!!! He's not due for another three or four weeks, so I sort of hope he won't come now! I had planned to drive up there when he was born so I could see them while they were still in the hospital, but there's no way I can do it this week or even this weekend, so Colin had better stay in there! I should hear from her again soon....she couldn't talk to me earlier because she was in too much pain....all of a sudden, she's ready for that epidural she said she didn't think she'd need to have! Ahhh yes...I knew she'd change her mind on that one! I'll keep you all posted!

So near the park where the Easter egg hunt was in our neighborhood, there's an oh so beautiful retention pond....we went on a walk last week and took Jackson back near there so we could let him off his leash and run....well, that was the idea anyway. He took off and jumped into the pond!!!!! Well, while at the park yesterday, Blake remembered that and wanted to go look at the pond....soooo....I took like a million pictures (he's so hard to take a decent pic of these days!!!) of him. It's only a retention pond, but it does look sort of like a real pond in my pics..hheeeheee!

Yesterday was our neighborhood Easter egg hunt! Blake thought he was hunting for "balls" as he kept calling the eggs! He did so good! I showed him where the eggs were, but he reached down, picked them up and put them in his basket on his own! I let him get about 5 eggs.....he can't eat jelly beans and stuff anyway, so why hog? It was the most beautiful afternoon yesterday! I helped hide the eggs with a neighbor of mine.....I enjoyed being outside! In about another three weeks, it will be scorching hot and I wont' want to step foot outside!!!!! Might as well enjoy it now!

While i was in Ks, I got to see one of my oldest friends who lives in Wichita named Michelle. Here's a pic of us....Blake's head, her, me and her son Logan who is about 2.5 months younger than Blake!

A Tough Decision

Sigh....So, I've been sick to my stomach all day today trying to make a tough decision. Blake's been going to the same babysitter since he was 4 months old. I was always happy with her and felt like he was getting good care. After I was laid off from my job, I stayed home with Blake everyday. In January, I started school and needed Blake to go back to the sitter for 2 hours twice a week, so of course I called his old babysitter who was happy to take him back. When he went back, there were more kids than before he left, two of which were young infants. I started noticing things I really didn't like. for instance, I would drop Blake off in the morning and come back in 2 hours to get him and the babies would be in the same place they were when I left--I have never seen her actually holding either of the babies! Just little things started bothering me....Once I went to pick him up and she didn't know where he was!!!! I found him under the kitchen table with a yogurt drink he had stolen from one of the other kids. This happened another time, also...I found him in the toyu room with one of those yogurt drinks he had again stolen from another kid, but this time the drink was all over his shirt!!!! He was once bitten on the arm by another child...which that sort of thing happens, but she didn't even know it had happened! I noticed the TEETH MARKS on his arm!!!!!

So, the crux, I would say, was Thursday when I went to pick him up. He was just standing in the hallway near the front door playing with a dinosaur. I picked him up and noticed he had two scratches, a bruise and a bump on his forehead!!!! The sitter had no idea what had happened to him! She said he fell once, but she didn't notice that on his head!!!! Uuummm....when Blake hurts himself like that, he definately lets me know each time! I just feel like at one and a half, Blake should be getting constant supervision. He should not be out of her sight very much at all. There have been too many instances in which he's gotten hurt and she didn't know how! I'm no longer comfortable taking him to her.

So...I guess I've made my decision and Blake will no longer be going to his same sitter as of today! I'm not looking forward to calling her and telling her this at all! I know she's in the wrong, but it just sucks having to tell her what I have to tell her. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do, though. I have school Tuesday and Thursday, and I know I won't have a sitter lined up for Blake by Tuesday! Gosh....I hate that this is happening, but I just have to look out for the good of my son because no one else is going to protect him like I will!
