Our New Toy

Putting it together
Kendall watched from the safety of her exersaucer
Jackson was dying to get up there and play with everyone!

Gramma Pam wanted to get Blake a trampoline for his birthday and spent some time researching ads on Craigslist when she came across an ad boasting a free trampoline to the first person who would come and haul it away. Sounded too good to be true, but she and Bryce went to check it out anyway. Well, sure enough, it was true to its word! They loaded up the trampoline and brought it back to our house a few weeks ago and it sat for awhile due to the tick problem (which, by the way, has been taken care of, thank God!!!). About three weeks ago, Pam and Bryce put it up in our backyard. It's been fun having it! The net was broken, so we're having to order a new one, but that's ok. it's really a nice trampoline for being absolutely free (well, a little elbow grease went into taking it down, loading it up and then putting it back up). We no longer have a backyard, the thing is so huge, but Blake likes it, so that's what counts!

I Am So 12 Years Old

Ok, so I admit it...I'm humored by the same things eight year old boys are humored by...My co-worker Adam sent me this link today and I just had to publish it. Tehee...

Perez Hilton:

This is not a joke.
West Virginia resident Jose Cruz was a very bad boy.
While being booked for a DUI, Cruz kept on with his naughty ways and
purposely 'passed gas' on a cop.
Fart machine!!!
According to the police report, Cruz allegedly "lifted his leg and passed gas loudly" on said cop and "then fanned the air with his hand in front of his rear onto the cop."
He's giving us some good ideas!
The complaint filed goes on to say, "The gas was very odorous and created contact of an insulting or provoking nature".
In addition to the DUI, Cruz was slapped with battery on a police officer for the farting incident.
Reality can be sooo much funnier than fiction sometimes!
The farting business is funny, but the DUI is not!
Don't drink and drive, y'all!

Recap

Today is Kendall's half birthday--she is 6 months old! I can't believe she's already half a year closer to her first birthday. It's hard to believe she's grown so much already, but it's hard to think of our lives without her. She's changed a lot in these past six months. Such a happy baby--it's not hard to catch one of her sparkly smiles.

She went to visit her cardiologist today. She weighs 16lbs 8ozs and is 26 3/4 inches. She's growing out of her 3-6 month clothes and fits a bit more comfortably in size 3 diapers. She is so smart--she figures out how to use her toys in the way they are intended to be played with so quickly! She sits unattended pretty well for longer and longer periods of time. No teeth just yet and she's decided she absolutely hates tummy time, so I don't think crawling is anywhere in her near future (which is just fine with me!). She eats applesauce, carrots, sweet potatoes, pears and bananas (she loves fresh smashed up bananas especially). She must be going through a growth spurt because she's back to waking up once a night to eat around 2am and then back up sometime before 7...yuck! She knows her name now and responds when you call to her. Her favorite toys are her exersaucer and her jumperoo, but her favorite thing is to be held--especially by Mommy. She loves her brother and can't wait to be able to run around and play with him.

We're Almost sitting Up!

Going....
Going....
Gone!
Kendall is getting stronger and stronger these days! We practiced sitting up the other day before bathtime. She can hold herself up for a good amount of time! Can't leave her unattended or anything, but we'll keep working on it!

Kendall was getting too big for her bath sling, so we tried out the bath seat I got at my shower. I think Kendall likes it and enjoys sitting up.

The weather has been unseasonably cool the past two days, so we decided to take full advantage ans walk down to the park last night--lots of fun!

And Happy Birthday Bryce and Sandy!

Mimi and Papa were in town Labor Day weekend. We celebrated Sandy and Bryce's birthdays with a yummy dinner! Brad found an unexpected guest in the garage....again, another thing driven our way thanks to the "deforestation" in front of our neighborhood (haha)!

Happy Belated Birthday Bryce!

Bryce's birthday was this past Thursday. We went out to dinner at a restaurant in the old MTv Real World house. Big Tex and the fountain were in the show, so we had to get pictures by them! It was a good restaurant--we'll have to go back another time! They had some killer margaritas--one was definitely enough!!! It would be a great happy hour place if I had time of happy hour...lol! Anyway, happy birthday, Bryce!

Here are some random kid shots. We've been pretty busy lately. It's birthday party season again--Blake had two parties Saturday and has had two others before that. We had one of Blake's friends from school (Adam) and his parents over Sunday night for fajitas. They came to help us out with a nasty infestation we have going on....what's taking over our lives, you ask? TICKS...yes, I said ticks! They have cleared the fields in front of our neighborhood and we've had so many problems ever since. Construction noise, the mice (yes, we had a mice nest in the back yard) and now this....I found ticks on Jackson, which prompted an investigation. We found close to 30 ticks live and dead in our bedroom....gross! I had to treat the backyard with something you use for your pool--diatomaceous earth...it doubles as an all natural way to treat for bugs. Adam's parents had another pool chemical they sprayed the perimeter of the yard with. We've treated Jackson as well...so gross!!!! I've been working nearly every Saturday at PBK, so that's been leaving me with very little rest time. What can you do, I suppose.

Two of my coworkers and I have signed up for boot camp! Yes, we're ready to get our butts kicked into shape! Not to worry, I will have my camera handy (don't tell either of them...heehee) to take pictures along the way. The class starts Sept. 29th and is four weeks long, three nights a week for an hour. I'm so over being fat! I have 15 lbs to lose before I reach my pre-pregnancy weight and then I'd love to lose another 30 on top of that. For now, I'll be happy with a 20lb loss....we shall see.

Blake is going to play soccer this Fall. Matthew is a year older than Blake and will be turning five in October, so he can't be on the 4 and under league anymore, sadly, so the boys won't be able to play on the same team this time around. We've got one of Blake's friends from school (Aaron) who is all signed up to play with Blake this time around. Bryce isn't interested in soccer, so he keeps telling me soccer is my sport....should be interesting! I played soccer in high school....granted, I sucked, but whatever! I can teach my son how to play! Maybe he'll be better than I was.

Hey, Scooter!

Well, Kendall isn't crawling, but she's scooting--on her back! You can tell from the top picture she's using her feet to scoot herself around the room--lol! She doesn't get too far yet, but it won't be long! I wonder what she'd do on the wood floors that are easier to scoot across.....
