Well, I have been MIA for a little bit, but, gosh have I been busy. Where do I begin? We've had something every weekend since Blake's birthday--multiple things--and it's not going to stop until after New Year's! This weekend we have a birthday party Saturday at 12:30, a baby shower at 3, then are invited to a football party at one of our friends' house. Then Sunday we have another bday party at 11am and then are going to Dinoland after that! Somewhere in there, I need to go over and let Kendall meet her new babysitter--yep, you read that right! Drama has been lurking lately. Read on if you dare:

So, I got really worried about how good of a place Kendall was going to after she got two ear infections. Now, I know kids get sick and ear infections happen, but after Blake had ear infections 5 months straight, I am just weary. He had so many infections we nearly put tubes in his ears and then I moved him to the preschool he's at now and it hasn't been a problem in two years--they simply did not clean the toys well enough at his other daycare and germs were just everywhere! Not a problem anymore. So, when Kendall got her infections, it just sent a red flag. I decided it was time for her to move on. I wasn't all that happy with the place anyway. I did find out that they were laying her down and having her hold her own bottle....that could be a cause of the infections. So after calling several in-home registered daycares, I settled on one that seemed to be great. Kendall was the only baby, there were only 4 other kids, the sitter was making a deal with me on her rate because Kendall would only go 3 days a week. Well, the day before Kendall was to start, the lady sends me an email saying she would have to charge me the full rate and that I could not pay her on the days we had agreed to (bi-weekly when Bryce and I get paid. She wanted the 1st and the 15th...stupid). An EMAIL!!! She couldn't even call me with that sort of information!?! That concerned me. Then after Kendall's first day, I had a note from her saying Kendall had a very rough day and that she would try it out for two weeks and if it didn't work, she couldn't keep watching Kendall because she needed to have time for her other kids as well. It just rubbed me the wrong way. I had already paid her for the week, but I decided Kendall would not go back. I felt like she didn't have the time or the desire to get Kendall accustomed to her new surroundings...it was like she just wanted Kendall to figure out how to get used to things on her own. I don't know...I just didn't feel like she was a match for us. I had to take Kendall to the office with me Wednesday and Timberli is watching her today. Now, I'm a firm believer in the idea that everything happens for a reason....This change and drama (the other lady has caused some drama with me and I've done the same back:) has brought about a very exciting and happy arrangement. Kendall will now be staying with my friend Hollee's mom on MWF when I'm at the office! Hollee's mom is great with kids and I completely trust her with Kendall! She will take absolutely the best care of my little girl! Kendall will be the only one she's watching all day (Matthew will be there after school some days) and will have absolute attention and care. I will not have to worry if she's being loved or hugged or taken good care of! On those days where she needs a little special attention, she'll get it! Hollee's mom's name is Lesa and I'm so excited for Kendall to start with her! Kendall has met her several times, but this weekend will be the first time she'll be really introduced and things. The arrangement really helps out Lesa and us, so we're so excited! While all of this is good, it's change and it freaks me out! I've been totally out of my element for this entire week. I'll get some pictures uploaded soon, I promise! We'll have Trick-or-Treating pictures and birthday party pics galore, so tune back in soon!

Just a quick update....I took Blake to the doctor for his 4-year well check on Tuesday. Last year he was 39lbs and 39 inches. This year, he's 43 inches and 45 pounds--90th percentile for both! No doubt that my child is large, but, then again, I never expected him to be small! I'm having to buy him size 6 clothes now...we're out of the toddler clothes, which stinks because everything's more expensive! What can you do, I suppose? He had to get 4 shots, which he was VERY upset about. Normally it doesn't bother me when my kids get shots...I know they're necessary and I know it's a very minimal pain for a very short period of time....well, since Blake was really old enough to know what was going on, he just screamed and screamed and almost had me crying! He won't have to get any shots again until he's like 10, so, whew! Now I just have to make it through Kendall getting her shots....I guess I'm getting soft in my old age!

I'm going to post again when I can....the next few weeks are ridiculously NUTS! Blake has 3bday parties Saturday and one on Sunday....I feel compelled to go to all of the parties of the kids who came to Blake's party and I hate for him to miss out on anything, so we're dragging ourselves to all 4 parties! I have to work at PBK Sat morning, so Bryce's mom Pam is helping me out by taking Blake to the first one of the day....which, coincidentally...the second party of the day is at the same place. It's this warehouse that has inflatables and the kids just go crazy jumping on all the different inflatables. So, two parties in a row there...yikes! Wish us luck, it's going to be exhausting! We have more parties, baby showers, weddings, etc in the following weeks....I don't know if I'll ever get rest again. Oh, well, it's fun! Anyway, many more posts to come!

Worn Out!

Blake was ssooo exhausted yesterday that he just fell asleep on the wood floor. We moved him up on the chair and he was mostly on there, but then somehow ended up with his feet on the floor and his body in the chair. I do not know how any of that could be comfortable, but he managed to stay asleep! Kendall and I were snuggled comfortably on the couch (she apparently woke up before I did)...We were tired people!!!!

Pre-Halloween Festivities

"You're making me aaannnngggrrrryyyyy!!!"
Matthew's fifth birthday party was today and it was a Halloween party! Blake really wanted to be The Incredible Hulk, so Grandma Charla found him a cool costume at Target. We were going to try to make it ourselves, but we couldn't find the things we needed, so we settled for a store-bought costume. I actually think it's pretty cute! Kendall is a little punkin this year! She didn't mind wearing the costume at all. Every so often, the hat would fall and cover her eyes and she'd have a freak out moment, but other than that, she didn't mind at all.

Dinner

Happy baby!

So sweet, isn't he?
Grandma Charla and Kendall
We went out to dinner last night and had the restaurant to ourselves, so why not use that opportunity to take some candid shots?

Grandma Charla was here this past week. We had a nice time with her!!!Yeah, let me pull his hair--he won't notice!
Not very lady like, missy!!!

Gramma Pam got Blake a bigger 4 wheeler than he had for his birthday...he's so excited about it! His favorite color is red, so he really likes this "Big Red 4 wheeler".

Not only was last Saturday Blake's big party, he had his first soccer game--as if I didn't have enough on my plate that day! Grampy, Patty and Mimi all got to come to his first game! He doesn't really quite get soccer just like he didn't really get T Ball or basketball, but oh, well. His friend Aaron from school is on his team as well. They have to be next to each other--sometimes I wonder if they're more interested in being around each other than playing the game!

Happy Birthday, Blake

AAwwwwwww....such a sweet, goofy boy! I hope he's always as happy as he is now...Such a big personality!

Today is Blake's fourth birthday!!!! This time four years ago, I was well into my induction at St. David's Hospital. Progress was slow but sure. After trying and trying and trying to get Blake out, we went into t he OR for a c-section and Blake Adam was born at 7:56pm weighing 8lbs 15ozs (no wonder we had to have a c-section!)! Now my first born is four years old--I can't believe how quickly the time has passed! HAPPY FOURTH BIRTHDAY, BABY BLAKE!!!!

Blake's Super Sweet Fourth Bday

Blake riding the pony
Even Grampy led a horse around! Thanks, Grampy!
Blake's cowboy outfit--we went to a Western store and bought him a Wrangler shirt and he even had a little pair of black cowboy boots!
Kendall's Western outfit before the party....I got her little red boots, but she was more interested in eating them than she was wearing them....they didn't last long!
Well....I tried. Blake didn't really want to pose for a picture, so this is the best I could do. You can kind of see the badges I made for all of the kids. Each one had their name on it.
Well, the paty was a hit!!! Somehow we all survived! We had about 22 kids and their parents come out for our Western-themed party! A few kids had to be dragged out kicking and screaming after the party was over. There were three ponies that the kids all took turns riding around the yard for the first hour. They had so much fun to see how much the kids enjoyed riding the horses! Blake was a bit scared at first, but was an old pro by the time was all said and done. After the ponies left, we had the kids pan for gold--my dad spray painted some pebbles gold and we hid the "gold" in the sand and had them sift through the sand with pie tins that had holes poked in the bottom. I had no idea they'd have so much fun doing this, but they loved it! I also had a farm-themed bean bag toss set up. Shortly after the horses left, we had hamburgers and hot dogs, then cut the cake and Grampy's homemade ice cream then it was time for presents. Blake got SO MUCH stuff!!! He's been reminding me every day that we haven't opened all of the boxes for his new toys....we have no where to put it all!!!! We all had such a fun time! The horses were the main attraction, so I didn't feel like I had to work hard for the kids to have a fun time! I didn't have to decorate much, either--I made a few cacti out of cardboard boxes that I painted green and then had a few things here and there, but that's about it. Anywhoo....enjoy the pics!

Cowboy Blake's grand entrance
Blake's "girlfriend" Haley dressed up for the party--she was too cute!
Even Bryce led a horse around the yard
Panning for gold
who knew kids would love panning for gold nuggets as much as they did--it was a hit!

The cake
The kids swarmed the cake--they were so excited for it!
