Visit to the Capitol

I've lived here 8.5 years and would you believe I've never visited the Capitol building? I drive by it all the time, but I've never taken the time to actually get close and walk on the lawn. I didn't go inside, but maybe next time. Kendall and I enjoyed a nice afternoon on the lawn of the state's Capitol! It really is quite pretty!

Easter in the Park

Posing for the camera!
Hunting for eggs

Oh, how I try to get good pictures of this child....she is just not that into it...lol!

Train ride!

Blake wasn't overly afraid of the Easter Bunny this year....he was a little nervous, but at least he sort of got close!

Daddy and Kendall waiting for Blake to finish his pony ride

Posing for a picture...maybe she'll get to ride next year!

Our neighborhood had an Easter celebration in the park a couple of weekends ago. We were able to go (I usually have to work Saturday afternoons and have to miss this kind of thing, but I was off the hook this particular Saturday!) and had a really nice time! The weather was wonderful and it was a great excuse for us to be outside with the kids! There was a train, pony rides, and, of course, en egg hunt. They gave the kids 4 and under a minute by themselves so that the bigger kids wouldn't steal all of the eggs, so Blake got some good loot.

Kendall's Birthday!

Getting ready to go to Lesa's on her birthday morning!
Jackson swimming in the lake

Kendall watching the dog swim

Blake at the lake

On Kendall's actual birthday, I took off half a day, picked up both kids and we headed out to the lake to enjoy the afternoon. I made the mistake of bringing the dumb, non-walking dog, who cut our afternoon short. He wouldn't walk like a normal dog and was cutting off circulation in my hand, so we couldn't go on a long walk like I had planned. We did have a fun time while we were there, though. Jackson loves swimming! We decided to go to the pond after leaving the lake since it was nice out and we weren't quite ready to go home. After the pond, we went home and we all crashed and didn't wake up until after 7:00! We went to Chili's for a very late dinner, but it was a fun day! I think that's all I have for Kendall's birthday...lol! Talk about celebrating!!!!

Blake stole an egg from the ducks....I was so surprised they didn't bum rush him and attack him! The poor egg was dropped shortly after this picture...lol!
After we left Town Lake, we went to feed the duck at the pond near Lesa's house. There were a ton of ducks around and we had a nice time!

Kendall's Birthday Continued....

All dressed up and ready for the party!

Ok...this is weird...lol...Kendall will get up on her knees and "walk" around like that! She won't get up and walk, but she'll do this...strange kid!

Balloons and the banner Hollee custom made!

The decor...I brought Kendall's first year frame so everyone could see how much she's changed in the past year

Well, I know I've added a ton of pictures from Kendall's birthday party, but I just had so many I wanted to put on here! We had another birthday party at Grandma Pam's house with a few friends and family. It was a very nice party!

She actually let Hollee hold her! She likes to shun Hollee and then laugh at her...lol...

Kendall loves to look away right as you snap the picture!

Opening presents

Won't she be stylin at the pool this summer!?!

Even Laura made a special trip for Kendall's birthday! Thanks so much for coming, Laura!!! We miss you!

Here's a picture of the cake and the mini cake I made--yep, I said I made them both! I'm quite proud of how they turned out!

She didn't know the cake was coming yet or else I'm sure she wouldn't be crying!

Kendall eating her little mini cake with the hat Hollee made her! It didn't last long before she pulled it off...but it was cute while she tolerated it!
Yyuummm...cake...

After the party, we opened the present from Grandma Charla and Kendall stood right up and pushed it all over the place! She really liked it!!!

Playing with Grandma Charla before she had to leave

Kendall's big present from Mommy and Daddy. She's still small for it, of course, but I got a good deal and couldn't pass it up! We won't have a space for it in her room until the crib is gone, but I just had to get it! What little girl doesn't need a vanity just her size!?!
