I've been trying to lose the twenty pounds I've put on since Christmas, so I've been focusing a lot on diet. Some of my favorite things to eat are spring rolls. They're low in calories and incorporate lots of veggies. Today, while Kendall napped, Blake helped me cut veggies and crab meat to make a few rolls. Of course, Kendall didn't sleep long, so she helped at the tail end of the process. We used our rice paper rolls, which the kids love playing with (they go into the water in the form of a "paper" and come out a rubbery, gummy wrapper), to wrap up our ingredients and they rolls were ready to eat! Blake spit his first bite out and Kendall wouldn't try it at all... But at least we tried!

At the Beach
I'm really enjoying having a boyfriend from the coast area. Every chance we get, we take a trip to Port Aransas and hit the beach. This was the first weekend we've ever gone without kids. I have to say, I love taking the kids, but it's been very enjoyable just relaxing without worrying if the kids are being eaten by sharks lol. Jordan brought his pole and caught a big black drum. I had to sneak in a pic with it :). I really need to get my fishing license.

Out on the Lake
Jordan and I took his son Aiden and my kiddos to Town Lake. The boys got a canoe and Kendall and I got a kayak and we hit the water for an hour. It was a great time!

I Made a Crayon Apron!
I've been sewing a lot lately. I've completed three projects so far. Now, my sewing is not great by any means, but I'm trying! The kids have a party to go to for some of our long-time friends. I decided Maddie needed a crayon apron like I had when I was little, so I set out to make her one! Let's hope this doesn't make her think she has a license to color on the walls!

Kid Crafts
So, we decided we needed a gas pump for bike riding time. Blake and I searched for the right boxes and I got busy wrapping them in paper to hide the writing on the boxes. We decorated it, cut a hole for our Visa Cards and were all ready to go! I'm really learning how to be thrifty during this difficult time. No income sucks, but we're making the best of it! (I know the pics are out of order... For some reason, it won't put them in the order I upload them and I can't change the arrangement... Argh)

Omg I Made a Dress!!!!
I got the bright idea to start sewing a pillowcase dress for Kendall the other day. I haven't used a sewing machine since 6th grade. Needless to say, I did more seam ripping than seam creating... Bbuuttt... Despite my learning a few key sewing lessons the hard way, I think it turned out pretty darn well! (You can see in the pics that darn bottom band gave me a heck of a time! I think I sewed and un-sewed that darn thing three or four times! I finally just left it uneven and used ribbon to trim out the bottom so you can't even tell! Yep... Definitely have to be creative when your skills are still lacking lol). Kendall wore it right away after I finished it. It looked cute on her for our family walk!

Aunt Stephanie Came to Visit!
Aunt Stephanie and Olivia came to visit for a few days. We jam packed those days with lots of fun! We played at the playground, went to Zilker Park, swam at Barton Springs, at ate Chuy's (where Jenna Bush was arrested for underage drinking haha), visited the State Capitol, went kayaking on Town Lake, ate at The Salt Lick and watched The City of Buda's firework show! Whew! I think I showed them a lot of the city. I know I sure had a fun time!!!

Splash Day
The kids and I went to a park today that has a splash area. It was 104 today... Mmaayybbbeee not the best day to be outside, but the kids had a blast. We were glad there were sprinklers to run through! I packed up my little pink cooler and we had a picnic as well. It was a fun day!

Kid Craft Day
We pulled out our good ole acrylic paints again and made some little globe type deals with the sand and shells we collected from the beach. The kids just love painting.
