The kids and I went to a park today that has a splash area. It was 104 today... Mmaayybbbeee not the best day to be outside, but the kids had a blast. We were glad there were sprinklers to run through! I packed up my little pink cooler and we had a picnic as well. It was a fun day!
We pulled out our good ole acrylic paints again and made some little globe type deals with the sand and shells we collected from the beach. The kids just love painting.
I had a great birthday! We had a great day just hanging out at the house and then went to Sandy's for a nice family dinner!
We couldn't get onto the island to go to the beach today because the ferry line was too long, so we opted to fish in the flats and channels instead. Kendall was a little bored, but the rest of us had a blast! We didn't catch anything worth keeping, but Blake and I were pulling out little red fish and perch right and left!
The kids and I packed up and headed to Port Aransas for the weekend with Jordan. We got to spend a couple of hours on the beach today and then will go back again all day tomorrow. The kids dug up hundreds of tiny clams and played with them. They got a serious kick of that!
Blake lost his other top front tooth today. He and I stayed up extra late last night trying to get it out, but it wouldn't come. He worked on it this morning and it popped right out!!!! He was so super excited! He really wanted to keep this tooth, so check out the letter he wrote to the Tooth Fairy and her response lol
Blake is out of school and I'm really trying to keep him busy so he doesn't get bored since we don't have a pool two steps out the door anymore. Today our craft was to make Light Sabers while Kendall napped. I think his turned out really well!
So, I've got the house more cleaned up and thought I'd take some more living room pics to post. I even got the garage cleared out enough so I can park the Volvo in it! Woo hoo!
We've been busy cleaning up our house and getting settled in. We've raked years of leaves from our yard and power washed the front and back porches. We have so many oak trees in our yard that constantly make a mess if everything! I put the kids to work every chance I get. Blake has had fun learning how to do different sorts of chores. He and Kendall raked leaves for quite awhile yesterday and said they really liked it. Kind of amazing if you ask me lol. Anyway, enjoy the random kid pics!
So, I had to say a sad goodbye to The Lexus a few months ago. It was involved in an accident and had $9000 worth if damage done to it, totaling it out. It was a sad day, but I was lucky enough to get a good amount of money for it and, with the help of my dad, purchased a new car outright. Meet The Volvo! It's 4 years newer than The Lexus and has 100k miles less. The kids and I feel very safe in it. It's the same size as my old car (the trunk is WAY bigger, which is a plus), but that's ok for now! It has a turbo engine in it, so I enjoy the pep and have fun driving it, which is a good thing since I'm in the car three hours a day getting Blake to and from his school in Bee Cave.
I was kind of bummed when I started seeing water puddling up in the car. I really don't have the cash flow to deal with any car issues. Luckily, my boyfriend Jordan was able to figure out the ac line was clogged and unclog it for me and we're back in business! When he pulled the carpet in the car up, there was several inches of water puddled up. It was a pretty serious issue. Had it been left to go on for much longer, I could be looking at rust, mold and so much more. The whole car smelled like mildew constantly. If you know me, you know I like to have things smell fresh and clean! But, we're back in business now and things are great! I can now say I'm completely starting over. Nothing in my life resembles what it did two years ago. While it's a bummer to lose so much in such a short period of time, I'm reaching for the positive and looking at all of this as the opportunity for a fresh, clean start.

We had such a nice Mother's Day today! The kids, Erin and I met Sandy and Brad at church and then went swimming and had a nice lunch together! It was a very nice day!
