So, I feel like I may be losing all sense of sanity I may have once had....and I'm just needed some advice to re-ground me. Here's the story...I started taking Human Anatomy this summer, but with getting two new jobs and all, I had to drop it--just too much going on. So, I signed up to retake it this Fall. No big deal there. Well, my friend Staci at work mentioned that she would like to take some classes and is interested in being a nurse. She signed up for intro to microbiology. Well, I didn't think I could take this class because it very specifically says that anatomy is a pre-req. She signed up for it and hasn't taken anatomy, so I dont' know what is up with the pre-req thing. Well....I decided I'd take the course, too. it can't be too bad--it's an intro course. Am I losing my mind? I have a full time job everyday 8-5, plus a job at Pottery Barn Kids that usually requires me to work at least 5 hrs per week (and I do rather enjoy working at that place, that's why I'm so hesitant to let it go...plus, the discount is FABULOUS!!!!). I'll be going to anatomy M & W 5:40-8:45 and this micro biology class is on T & Th 7:05-9:45. I'll probably have to work both Fri and Sat nights at Pottery Barn most weeks....is this insane, people? Am I taking on too much? That will mean Sunday is really my only down day, but how can i really have a down day if I'm in two classes? But, then again, I mean, if I'm going to get this show on teh road, I have to get these classes out of the way--I mean, I'm not even in the nursing program yet, I'm just doing the pre-req's!!!!!! I need outside opinions, peeps...even if you've never commented on here before--do it! I need to know if I'm being crazy and thinking I can do more than I can. Lisa J., I'm very interested to hear what you have to say about this since you've been doing the school/family thing (maybe not the work aspect, but still, your opinion will be valuable to me). Thanks!!!!

Lisa: You can do anything you set your mind to do! It sounds like a heavy load for sure, but with careful planning and organization I am sure it's possible. It will probably be the semester from hell, but if it's what you really want to do than you can make it work. You can do it! :)
Anatomy & Micro together plus a full and part-time job with a small child... hmmm, something might have to give. Here's the deal- you need REALLY good grades to get into the nursing programs (like usually As). Alison's right, you can do anything you put your mind to, but you might be killing yourself doing it. BTW, how many credit hours is that? I guess you have to ask yourself how much you like to sleep. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll do it well!
Lisa and Alison both have good advice...I think I'll probably have to say the same thing. You can do anything you put your mind to but you don't want to burn yourself out at the same time and never sleep/eat/play....it's a tough call. I'd want to get it out of the way too but then again, I don't think I'd want to sacrifice all my extra time to school (even though most of it will be to study with just one class). I'd need some rest after just working 2 jobs! I can't imagine how I'd feel after that then school and then Blake! :) I know you'll achieve what you want, whatever way you go!
I will just comment that you can enroll in any class you want, especially with the internet enrollment...but there is a good possibility you will get dropped from the course or even worse you will do all the hard work and they won't give you credit. Girl I work 2 jobs and don't have a family...how do you do it? :)
I know that you can achieve anything you really want, but wow!!! You need some Lisa, Bryce & Blake time, too!! Don't stress yourself out too much!! Consider long & hard & if it still comes out you want to try it.....go for it, but don't forget to take care of yourself, too. Love you!!!
