Ok, so this is a picture from the PBK collection I've chosen for Kendall's room. The reason I'm posting this is because I want to paint her room the same as they've painted this room. So, I get how to paint the different shades of lavendar, of course, my dilemma lies with the polka dot sort of chair rail border they're showing. I could make a stencil and paint around the room, but...our walls are textured and I don't think the circles would come out with crisp edges. Does anyone know any tricks to painting textured walls? Or does anyone have any ideas how I could create a border similar to this with something other than paint? I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how I want to do this, but I can't come up with anything! I've been working on the nursery a little bit each night and I'm making progress! I cleaned out the closet and had Bryce take the doors off last night. He moved the changing table into the closet to give us more space in the room. It fits in there perfectly and I think it's going to be a pretty good solution to the small space issue we have! I'm just going to have to work hard at keeping the closet organized since it will be exposed!

hmmm, i don't know anything about painting on textured walls, but what about 'stickers'/wall dots? lows/home depot sells some stuff like that but i don't know if they have anything simple and dots of the same size. i've seen them for sale on websites but they're multiple sizes.
anyway, really cute colors and idea!
we leave hank's closet door open all the time (sliding door). partly because it's more convenient w/the laundry in there but also i love seeing is closet full of cute little clothes!
I know that blue painters tape works wonders! Just still try to "edge" it so the paint isn't too thick to possibly get thru but it will give you a crisp edge maybe using that and some sort of sticker like Adria suggested would give you the "desired" look ;) Looks like a great room color scheme, can't wait to see it! :)
Very pretty! I was gonna suggest what erin said, blue tape, that's the only thing I can think of. I can't wait to see it when it's done! Jess painted Kylie's room a pretty shade of purple and I love it!! You could always just paint it yourself free hand!! :) I would go crazy.
I just thought of something! You know how you said the closet will be open? Well, I know some people who hang fabric like curtains almost hanging across the opening with a rod. That might be kinda cool because then you would have the option to pull it shut. Just an idea.
Kendall's room is going to be so cute! You are really going all out to be prepared... we are still waiting on our crib skirt to get here!!!
For the chair rail... what about buttons?
I just realized I didn't comment on this- nope, I don't know how to do the textured painting either although my hired painters had a technique that involved painting the base coat into the edge to seal the crack, then doing the other color- it worked well on bullnose corners!
sorry for such a late response!
I was going to make the same suggestion as Adria - the wall dots... have you considered using two-sizes of round sponges? that might make it easier to do on the textured wall??? just a thought.
:)
I can't wait to see how it turns out!
