Heart Monitor

Kendall went to the cardiologist yesterday and was equipped with a heart monitor to wear for 24 hours. This should be the last time she has to go through this, as long as everything is clear. This time the monitor was a lot smaller than it has been in the past (I didn't get a good picture of it) and there were fewer leads that had to be attached to her skin. You can see how red her chest and tummy were after I took the tape off. I left the little pads on there because I felt bad for her and thought she might want to rest. She didn't cry at all taking the tape off, but I'm sure it wasn't comfortable! After all was said and done, it was back to business as usual--toys!

Potty Training

Ok, we aren't really potty training, but here's a funny story for ya...I had Kendall in the tub, Blake was dragging his feet, taking his time getting in. She was sitting with her back facing me and I saw bubbles coming up from under her...lol...well, all of a sudden, I saw the dreaded poop coming out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I grabbed her really quickly and put her on the toilet and that silly baby finished pooping straight into the pot! I couldn't believe she would actually do it! Bryce has had her do this before, but I've never witnessed it. Oh, man..I couldn't stop cracking up. I had to have Bryce come get her and clean her up while I scrubbed the tub. Well, he cleaned her and put her back on the floor with no diaper on and that crazy kid pooped again!!!! This time it was just a little bit....Just enough to get her bottom all grody....then she SAT on the carpet and left a nice skid mark along with a little bit in another place!!!! Oh, man....totally gross, I know, but I could NOT stop laughing! Bryce didn't think it was all that hilarious, but what can you do? Damage is already done...might as well get a good chuckle out of it! Anyway....Just had to post that!

Monday, March 09, 2009

Oh my goodness...this is hilarious! Kendall started "talking" this weekend. I swear, one day she's not doing something and then the next, she just is! Like last weekend, she just started climbing the stairs....just got up there like she had done a million times! I have pictures of that that I'll upload another time. Anyway, here's a little video for you all to hear the new jabber Kendall is putting out there for us now!

11 Month Photo Shoot

Why do all photo shoots end like this? Lol

Missy Mae is 11 months as of the 25th of Feb! Yep....that means the first birthday is right around the corner. Now, I know you all are expecting a lot from me since I have a tendency to go a bit overboard with the parties, but we are just having a very intimate, family-only party in the evening. I am going to do a lot of cute things, though...hopefully I'll be able to make a really cute cake--should be interesting.... I'm excited!

My Little Unicorns

We made unicorn horns in the bathtub the other night...haha....Kendall wasn't really too cooperative, so Blake decided to "help" her by forcing her to look at the camera...lol....

Out with the Old....

...and in with the new. Here are the new couches! They sure take up quite a bit more space than the other ones, but we have a ton more seating now when we have people over. They make the house smell all good and leathery! Bryce was sick over the weekend, so I decided to let him have the bed to himself (along with his germs) and I got to test the couch out...it was really quite comfy! I took a nap on it Sunday, too....heehee!

Well, Kendall has started nodding her head back and forth when you tell her "no no". We just recently had to start saying that to her as she's gotten older and is mobile and into EVERYTHING! I also got her to say "mom mom mom" for you too...she whines that at me quite a bit...it's the sweetest sound! Again, this video was taken on my phone, so the quality and lighting are poor, but you get the idea...

We've Been Robbed!!!!

...and they stole our five year old couch and chair!!!!! Lol....well, not exactly. I sold my old couch, chair and ottoman on Craigslist in two days! Unfortunately, our new set won't be ready until Saturday, so we've been furniture-less since last Sunday. Like how we've improvised? I feel like college kids (except I never even had this crappy of furniture in college...lol). We got a muhc larger couch and a love seat with an ottoman. We will have a lot more seating, which we really needed! When I bought the old couch, I was living in a small, one bedroom apartment. It was perfect for that space, but we've always needed something bigger for this house. 4.5 years after moving into our house, we're finally breaking down and getting the furniture we needed! I'll post this weekend with pics of the new furniture. Can't wait to have my living room functioning again!

Aw, he looks so old here!
Daddy's belt is yyyyuuuummmmyyyyy!

Playing with her toys while Mommy is working on the computer!

Lol...Blake is so good at letting me take his picture these days, but Kendall just shuts down and gets the blankest look on her face...lol

I got this kitchen set for Blake's 4th birthday....He wasn't all that excited about it and only plays with it here and there, but I had hoped I was going to have a girl and I got an awesome deal on the set at PBK, so I had to get it. Kendall loves playing with it already!

Well, I don't really have anything to blog about...I guess I do, but I'm too lazy to upload the new pictures, so I guess I'll rifle through some older pics and slap something up here for now...lol...gotta keep it fresh, right?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Cupid brought the kids some Valentine's Day gifts and some flowers for me! Kendall didn't want anything to do with the little stuffed giraffe she got, but was very interested in what Blake got....I swear, that kid can sniff out food from miles away! She eats constantly, but you'd never be able to tell that--she stays pretty slim! Blake wasn't interested in putting his red outfit on for pictures, so I took a few of Kendall by herself! Hope everyone had a happy Valentine's Day!

Brad is 20!!!

Happy 20th birthday to Brad! His birthday was the 10th, but we celebrated on Valentine's Day. Mimi was here in town and Pam, Sandy and Ryan also came over to our house and we had a really nice dinner and played some Wii.

Visit to the Park

We took a visit to the park a couple of weeks back when we were all off for MLK Day. It was a beautiful day, so we walked down to the neighborhood park and took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather. I think this is the first time we've gone to the park since Kendall's been old enough to really get what's going on. She enjoyed swinging, though if we pushed her too high, she'd get this look of fear on her face...lol! Blake, of course, loved riding his bike down to the park and ran around like a crazy person as usual. He always has to go down to the pond and thrown sticks or whatever he can find into the water. He loves looking for frogs and turtles, also. It was a fun day! I had to throw a picture from bath time in too...who doesn't want to see two cute little kids taking a bath? I mean, come on!!!

Kendall is quite the dancer..she will dance to absolutely anything! Can't wait to get her enrolled in dance class---oh, so cute! I took this video last night during the Super Bowl. It's not the best quality because I took it on my phone, but oh well...you get the idea! My camera saves videos as HUGE files, so I can't ever upload the ones I take from there...I'm gonna have to figure that one out. Anyway, enjoy!

Oh, and I feel bad because my blog has been Kendall dominated lately...I'll get some posts of Blake soon!!!!

Visit with The Lowry's

I realized I never posted any pictures from when we visited Michelle and her family when we were in Kansas. I didn't get as many pictures as I normally do for some reason, but here ya go. We miss you guys so much and are glad we can spend at least a little bit of time with you when we're in town!!!

10 Months

Well, Pretty Pretty Princess is 10 months old as of the 25th! I always try to take pictures of her on her monthly birthday for her First Year Frame, so here are some highlights from our photo shoot. The first pic is the very first one I snapped and it went down hill from there, so I was glad ot at least have one cute one for the frame!
Let's see....she's still not sleeping through the entire night...we put her down and she wakes up about 15 more times (exaggeration) to be comforted back to sleep, the paci put back in, etc. I have never wanted to let her cry it out because of her heart condidtion. She is off her acid reflux medication, yay! No more spitting up! She started kissing me, but only when it's her idea. You can't ask her for a kiss, you just have to accept it when she opens her slobbery mouth and tongues you! She's a "bye bye" expert, kinda pulls up on things, said "da da" to Bryce once, eats anything and everything--the kids LOVES food! She constantly blows raspberries and clicks her tongue. She's got such a fun, outgoing personality. When we're in public, she'll randomly holler as loud as she can, just so the entire store knows she's there. She's a sweet baby!!!!

Kendall

My darling daughter, I love her, but she is just not photogenic. As soon as you whip out the camera, any smiles, giggles, etc that were happening before are completely halted and this blank face is present. I decided we were going to have a photo shoot because I wanted a picture of Kendall with this yellow blanket to give to my Grandma Saundra who we recently found out has cancer. When I was a baby, she made this blanket for me, so it was special to me to be able to hand it down to my daughter! Anyway, out of like 25 pictures, I got one really cute one and thought I'd post it! We recently had Kendall's 9 month check up (I was a little behind due to the holidays) and she weighed in at 18lbs and was 26 inches long. Adria asked me why I always call her small when she seems pretty average, so I decided to look in Blake's baby book for some comparisons....at 9 months, he was 20lbs and 29 inches. So...he was a good bit longer than her and a couple of pounds heavier. I guess she just always seems so tiny to us because she started off so much smaller than Blake and she's able to wear clothes for so much longer than Blake did. She's about average for her height and weight, so that's good. She's crawling all over (her poor knees are red by the end of the day after crawling around on the wood floors, but she doesn't seem to mind) and I think she's trying to say "Blake". This morning when she saw him, she started saying "bah bah bah". I know, it's a stretch, but she doesn't say "bah" too often, so I was just thinking she was trying to make the B sound at the beginning of his name. Who knows? She does think he's rather hilarious! Oh, and she's proven to be a true groovin baby this month! She's quite the dancer! She'll bust a move to anything--commercials, her toys, my singing...whatever, she doesn't care. I keep trying to get a video, but, as I said before, as soon as I pull out the camera, she stops any movement. I'll keep trying....

One More Christmas

We had one last Christmas with Bryce's mom on New Year's Day. It was a nice, relaxing afternoon hanging out at Bryce's mom's house. We got a Nintendo Wii and a Wii Fit, which has been helping me with my weight loss goal! If you don't have one, you need one! I love working out with the Fit! It's so much fun! Hopefully my booty will disappear soon enough!

Whew, I think I'm caught up now!

This took a long time to get him to do this!!! But, '09 bay-bay!
Virtual hug!!!

Happy New Year!
