Birthday Celebrating

Well, I think I did this post a little out of order, but you get the idea. Kendall had a very good first birthday party! Thanks for making a special trip, Grampy and Patty!!!

Patty and Kendall
Supper!

Mmmmmm.....Cake!

Lol!!!! Gramp's cake is ssoo good!

We celebrated Kendall's birthday with a very yummy steak dinner and homemade cake and ice cream! I must say, I think I gained 5 lbs just from my dad being here a couple of days!

Adria Came to Visit, Too!

I love the downtown view from the lake!

These might be some familiar faces! While Afria was taking her Texas roadtrip, she, Lindsey and Hank stopped through Austin for a quick visit! I wanted to take them to a park near downtown, but they were charging $3 to park, so we went to the walking trail that goes around the lake near downtown. It was a great day and I welcomed the excuse to be out with friends! Thanks for stopping by! It was great seeing you guys!!!

Time With Grampy

My dad and Patty came for Kendall's birthday a few weeks ago. It was a super fast trip, but it was so good to see them again!

What happens when you send two silly girls to Dollar Tree at lunch? Well....this is what you get....

We were on a mission to find non-candy items to stuff in Easter eggs (after I checked out, I got an email from Blake's school saying we COULD bring candy after they said we couldn't). Have you ever been to a store where everything's a dollar? Well, you should go....it's an experience. Actually, though, we find lots of good stuff there! I mean, if you need a really cute gift bag, Dollar Tree is your place! Oh, and Christmas wrapping paper....for real! Anyway....so we're scouring the aisles for something Easter-oriented and small enough to fit in an egg. The instructions I received were that the items were not to be a choking hazard and not candy. Uh...anything that fits into an egg poses a choking hazard, in my opinion! Anyway, so we're searching and in our endeavor, we came across glitter wands and had a baton twirling competition...I WON! Yes, I sure did...anyway, then I found these little porcupine balls in pastel colors that were the shape of an Easter egg (or maybe they had a bad production day and the balls were a bit off...either way, they fit into an egg and weren't candy) and some stickers. Perfect! Then, we came across the batons again and had another competition because Hollee wouldn't admit that I am better at baton twirling than she is. I won again. THEN we came to the end of the aisle and found these Grow 'Ems and couldn't stop laughing! They had a credit card (the bigger it gets, the higher your limit), the BFF that you see above, an Army man, various animals, a wife, a boyfriend, a brain, etc....very funny stuff! All in all....it was a highly entertaining lunch hour. A little bit too short, but isn't free time always that way!?!

Well, it's sort of a quiet Monday here at the office, so I'm taking a mini break from the non-hustle and bustle to update my sadly abandoned blog. I have a TON of things to post about...I haven't even begun posting Kendall's birthday celebrations! We had a nice weekend full of activity as well, so I have a lot of pictures to post from then, too. I dunno...the days just get past me and before I know it, they're over and I'm racing to get myself to bed at a decent hour! I have one picture I'll put up here from Kendall's birthday. She went to Lesa's house for half the day and then I picked her up so we could spend some time together. Lesa got her a little cupcake, which Kendall thoroughly enjoyed! Here's a picture of her eating it....I'll update my blog soon, I promise!

Kendall is One!!!!!!!

Well, our pretty pretty princess is one in exactly one hour and five minutes (or at 7:22pm on the 25th if you want to be precise)!!! Wow, I can't believe the first year has flown by so quickly! She got to have her very own photo shoot with her very first birthday cake on the 14th. She was very dainty about it, but got very angry when we took it away from her!!!! She didn't cooperate too well with the photographer, but I guess we got what we needed. Happy birthday to our sweet little funny girl! I'll have a photo montage up tomorrow...I'm sure you'll be holding your breath waiting!!

When we got out floors done several months back, we had 3 boxes of wood left over. We decided it would be good to just carry the wood into the entryway, so we finally got around to doing it last weekend. There was previously ceramic tile in there (wish I had a real before picture). Well, when the guys took the tile out, oh my goodness, there was dust everywhere! They gave us no warning whatsoever about them havnig to use a grinder, so we went downstairs and there was dust EVERYWHERE--including covering our brand new couches!!!!! I spent all of Saturday night and Sunday cleaning from top to bottom! And one of the guys said he'd clean, which he did, but he used the Swiffer Wet pads on our floor and man....they made such a greasy mess! I can't get the grease to come up no matter how much I mop, so our floors look like total and utter POOP!!!! I'm very irritated! Anyway, though, the stupid entryway is finished....It looks good, which I'm glad about. As for the rest of my house--I still have cleaning to do! There is a bathroom right off the entryway and they left that door open while they were grinding...I have a deep red color on the walls in there and I'm just going to have to repaint completely. The walls are covered in dust and you can't just wipe it off. Argh...No one can do anything to my standards, but this was just ridiculous! Anyway....Oh, and that one piece on the step does need to be stained, but that's just going to have to happen another day and time. We're just happy to have that step finished. It was hard to know what to do with it because previously the carpet covered it and when we took it off, we were left with a cement step. It's much better this way, but we will eventually have to stain that little piece. Ah, gotta love home improvements!

Random Shots

I made that brown and pink bow for a friend of mine, so I was testing it out on Kendall to make sure it looked ok and she did not appreciate it! She did, however, have a very fun time playing in the cabinet while I was cleaning the kitchen. I took the last picture of the kids this morning. Blake was trying to eat his Cheerios and Miss Piggy pulled herself up and was trying to take handfuls out of his bowl!

Heart Monitor

Kendall went to the cardiologist yesterday and was equipped with a heart monitor to wear for 24 hours. This should be the last time she has to go through this, as long as everything is clear. This time the monitor was a lot smaller than it has been in the past (I didn't get a good picture of it) and there were fewer leads that had to be attached to her skin. You can see how red her chest and tummy were after I took the tape off. I left the little pads on there because I felt bad for her and thought she might want to rest. She didn't cry at all taking the tape off, but I'm sure it wasn't comfortable! After all was said and done, it was back to business as usual--toys!

Potty Training

Ok, we aren't really potty training, but here's a funny story for ya...I had Kendall in the tub, Blake was dragging his feet, taking his time getting in. She was sitting with her back facing me and I saw bubbles coming up from under her...lol...well, all of a sudden, I saw the dreaded poop coming out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I grabbed her really quickly and put her on the toilet and that silly baby finished pooping straight into the pot! I couldn't believe she would actually do it! Bryce has had her do this before, but I've never witnessed it. Oh, man..I couldn't stop cracking up. I had to have Bryce come get her and clean her up while I scrubbed the tub. Well, he cleaned her and put her back on the floor with no diaper on and that crazy kid pooped again!!!! This time it was just a little bit....Just enough to get her bottom all grody....then she SAT on the carpet and left a nice skid mark along with a little bit in another place!!!! Oh, man....totally gross, I know, but I could NOT stop laughing! Bryce didn't think it was all that hilarious, but what can you do? Damage is already done...might as well get a good chuckle out of it! Anyway....Just had to post that!

Monday, March 09, 2009

Oh my goodness...this is hilarious! Kendall started "talking" this weekend. I swear, one day she's not doing something and then the next, she just is! Like last weekend, she just started climbing the stairs....just got up there like she had done a million times! I have pictures of that that I'll upload another time. Anyway, here's a little video for you all to hear the new jabber Kendall is putting out there for us now!

11 Month Photo Shoot

Why do all photo shoots end like this? Lol

Missy Mae is 11 months as of the 25th of Feb! Yep....that means the first birthday is right around the corner. Now, I know you all are expecting a lot from me since I have a tendency to go a bit overboard with the parties, but we are just having a very intimate, family-only party in the evening. I am going to do a lot of cute things, though...hopefully I'll be able to make a really cute cake--should be interesting.... I'm excited!

My Little Unicorns

We made unicorn horns in the bathtub the other night...haha....Kendall wasn't really too cooperative, so Blake decided to "help" her by forcing her to look at the camera...lol....

Out with the Old....

...and in with the new. Here are the new couches! They sure take up quite a bit more space than the other ones, but we have a ton more seating now when we have people over. They make the house smell all good and leathery! Bryce was sick over the weekend, so I decided to let him have the bed to himself (along with his germs) and I got to test the couch out...it was really quite comfy! I took a nap on it Sunday, too....heehee!

Well, Kendall has started nodding her head back and forth when you tell her "no no". We just recently had to start saying that to her as she's gotten older and is mobile and into EVERYTHING! I also got her to say "mom mom mom" for you too...she whines that at me quite a bit...it's the sweetest sound! Again, this video was taken on my phone, so the quality and lighting are poor, but you get the idea...

We've Been Robbed!!!!

...and they stole our five year old couch and chair!!!!! Lol....well, not exactly. I sold my old couch, chair and ottoman on Craigslist in two days! Unfortunately, our new set won't be ready until Saturday, so we've been furniture-less since last Sunday. Like how we've improvised? I feel like college kids (except I never even had this crappy of furniture in college...lol). We got a muhc larger couch and a love seat with an ottoman. We will have a lot more seating, which we really needed! When I bought the old couch, I was living in a small, one bedroom apartment. It was perfect for that space, but we've always needed something bigger for this house. 4.5 years after moving into our house, we're finally breaking down and getting the furniture we needed! I'll post this weekend with pics of the new furniture. Can't wait to have my living room functioning again!

Aw, he looks so old here!
Daddy's belt is yyyyuuuummmmyyyyy!

Playing with her toys while Mommy is working on the computer!

Lol...Blake is so good at letting me take his picture these days, but Kendall just shuts down and gets the blankest look on her face...lol

I got this kitchen set for Blake's 4th birthday....He wasn't all that excited about it and only plays with it here and there, but I had hoped I was going to have a girl and I got an awesome deal on the set at PBK, so I had to get it. Kendall loves playing with it already!

Well, I don't really have anything to blog about...I guess I do, but I'm too lazy to upload the new pictures, so I guess I'll rifle through some older pics and slap something up here for now...lol...gotta keep it fresh, right?
